Etypejazz present -
If You Were Me
Etypejazz have a new collection of songs which reflect the highs and lows that the band have moved through over the past couple of years. Change through indifference, new life, illness and death have all influenced these emotionally charged songs.
When threaded together, the songs create a journey which seduces an audience to connect with the band and move through the show together.
In a show like never before, Etypejazz will perform the premiere of this Cabaret production as a part of one of Australia's favourite festivals in 2008 - stay tuned for details.
We would like to invite you to come on board as a supporter of If You Were Me by making a tax deductible donation to the Australia Cultural Fund, operated by the Australia Business Arts Foundation (AbaF).
There are many layers of costs associated with developing this production which begin with development costs in the composition of the music. The additional layers consist of the shaping and direction of the show, together with the possible inclusion of guest artists, depending on the direction that the production takes, and the funds available to realise the project.
The preparations of musical arrangements and compositions can cost the band between $1,000 and $3000 in artistic fees, while the development of the show to full scale production could cost anywhere up to $45,000 depending on the budget and final artistic direction.
Donations of any size are sought to support either 'Commissioning a song' or 'Production of the show'
Ticket sales and festival commission will offset the expenses incured to develop a modest show, but donations are sought to help the show realise it's full production.
How Does It Work?
The Australia Cultural Fund was established to encourage people to donate to the arts and to enable artists, including musicians, to benefit from this generosity. All donations are made to the Australia Business Arts Foundation (AbaF) which then considers donor preferences when allocating grants. In the past three years more than $2million has been donated to AbaF and granted to 270 artists and cultural organisations - it is a great program for projects like ours.
So, by making a donation you not only get to support this inaugural Etypejazz production, that we hope will add value to how people experience Australian contemporary Cabaret, but you also geta tax deductible receipt for your gift.
You can download the donation form here or email the Etype's management to request a form.
You can also go to the "Information for Donors" for FAQs about donating.
